Polyurethane is widely used in people's life.

The rigid PU foam is a product with excellent insulation performance. It has been widely used in domestic appliances and construction. PU elastomer is used for roller, conveyor belt, hose, auto parts, sole, synthetic leather, wire and cable and medical artificial viscera.

Soft PU foam is used for vehicles, bedroom, clothing liner, etc.
Coatings are used for advanced vehicles, furniture, wood and metal protection, reservoir DAMS and building anti-permeability materials, and fabric coatings.

The adhesive has good adhesion to metal, glass, ceramics, leather, fiber and so on.
In addition, polyurethane can also be made into an emulsion, magnetic material and so on.

PU is produced by polyether polyol as raw material and is called polyether polyurethane.

Polyurethane has a variety of polyether and different properties, which determines the broad development background of polyether polyurethane.

Better Price of Coating Additives

Clariant announced global price increases for selected pigments. The price increases, which come into effect for delivery as of Jan. 15, 2018 or as soon as contracts allow, will affect dioxazine violet and diarylide pigments. Prices for PV 23 (dioxazine violet) and PO 34 will be increased by 15%. Prices for PY 83 will increase by 14%, prices for PY 12, PY 13, PY 14, PY 174 and PY 176 will increase by 5%. The price increases are driven by higher raw material prices (e.g. carbazole, hydroquinone, DCB and certain coupling agents) triggered by higher environmental, health and safety costs and lack of availability, e.g. due to the stronger enforcement of environmental and safety regulations in China.
